Imperial Fist Veteran: stage 2

Imperial Fist Veteran: stage 2

Hi all, as said yesterday here is the update on the Imperial Fist Veteran.

The yellow has been improved, its more at the level I want it now, so its time for the highlights and what not.

I have base coated the cloth red and the trim and knee purple and work on the backpack has also started, but I forgot to get photos of that so will wait until the next update which should be tomorrow with any luck.

So, here are the pictures:

They are not the best quality photos, but I think I have made some improvements to the set up. Anyway, tell me what you think in the comments below.

Imperial Fist Veteran

Imperial Fist Veteran

Well, here is the current model on my painting table. It's one of the metal veteran space marine models, which I will be painting up to be a veteran Sargent of the 7th company for the Imperial Fists.

This is not only my first Imperial fist model I have done, but also the first time I have painted a yellow model.

My plan for this model is to paint him up in the purple shoulder trim, as well as painting the left knee in purple. I then plan of painting the decoration on him, such as on the chest and leg, in NMM silver. Which would also be the fist attempt. and finally, the cloth will be done in red.

This is a great test model for me and as is the first time I have even picked up a paint brush in about a year. So, here are the rest of the pictures.

Sorry for the quality of the photos, I really need to get my photo set up sorted out. Anyway, the next up date should be tomorrow and with any luck with better pictures as well. If I get this finished in time for Sunday I may even enter him in the painting comp at my local GW.

So, tell me what you think in the comments below, also how should I finish off the yellow armour and what tips have you come across when painting yellow?

White Dwarf 364

White Dwarf 364

White Dwarf 364 focuses mainly on the release of the Blood Angels, as is shown by the cover.
It contains:

Warhammer 40K
- Blood Angles designer notes
- 'Eavy Metal Masterclass: The Sanguinor
- Modelling workshop: Statues
- Modelling workshop: Blood Angels
- Frame diagrams: Blood Angels Sanguinary Guard
- Frame diagrams: Blood Angels Death Company
- Battle report: Blood Angels vs The Black Legion

Warhammer
- Beastmen Tactics
- tactics about armys with range weapons
- Leo Baker and Robert Gogin's Vampire Courts Army
- Battlefield challenge: Duel of Champions

Lord of the Rings
- Rohan war of the rings army building
- Army workshop: Rohan Armies

Other
- Standard Bearing
- News
- New Releases
- Hobby activities
- Old war stories: creating your own scenarios

Over all I like this issue more than some of the previous ones of late. The Frame diagrams are brilliant as always, and have even made me want to pick up a box of the Blood Company. The master-class is also very good at teaching a basics about NMM's and is worth it just for that, it also contains a nice modelling workshop for the new blood angels, but if your an experienced modeller then it would only be of use for ideas.

In conclusion, if you have no interest in Blood Angels then it might be worth giving this issue a miss because that's what it mainly focuses on. Though would still be worth the purchase if your wanting to start a Rohan army or interested in Warhammer tactics.

~ So tell me what you think of the review and how I can change it to make it even better. Also tell me what you would like to see in these White Dwarf reviews. Finally, if there is anything which you would like to know about this issue then just let me know in the comments and i'll get back to you.

As you can see from the pictures, there is one rhino door set and two land raider door sets. The newsletter also mentioned that there will be a unique Ork model for the open day taking place on the 28th.

~ I for one think that these new door sets look stunning, and don't forget to check back for any more news.
